"The question is not, 'can they reason?' nor, 'can they talk?' but 'can they suffer?'" ― Jeremy Bentham
Every year on 4 October, World Animal Day is celebrated across the globe. Also known as Animal Lovers' Day, the global initiative for animal rights is aimed at raising awareness about their importance in the ecosystem and improving their welfare standards. Besides, the day also seeks to address the plight of animals, both wild and domestic, and initiate better efforts towards their protection and conservation. Students of Nursery- Grade IV celebrated this day making animal masks, creating habitats and doing a hat parade on endangered animals. Students of Grade I also participated in a discussion on wild animals and pets.
The purpose of celebrating this day was to make students aware of the state of animals and how humans can be gentle towards them and take care of them.
