The students of grade VII studied the structure of fungi on a bread mould (using a magnifying glass) and its mode of nutrition. With this activity, the students gained insights into:
1. Saprophytic nutrition: how fungi obtain nutrients from dead organic matter
2. Fungal structure: hyphae, sporangium, and spores
3. Reproduction: spore formation and dispersal.
The activity aligns perfectly with NEP and NCF guidelines, promoting: Hands-on learning, Scientific inquiry, Critical thinking and Observation skills.
By exploring fungi through bread mould, students developed a deeper understanding of biological concepts, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for science!
