"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots." -Marcus Garvey
To celebrate Heritage Week in school, students of all Grades, through various engaging and creative activities, encapsulated the essence of being an Indian. Pre Primary students made jets in the air, designed craft such as dolls and mosaic of tri-colour flag. They also spoke about the famous Indian monuments and how they have helped shape our national identity. The food fair by Grades III- V was a special hit with the students who shared anecdotes and emotions associated with this basic necessity of life. Senior students wrote poems, essays and narrated stories on Gallantry Award Winners who had laid their honorable lives for the motherland. Indian heritage is a dynamic combination of many cultural and social factors. The Heritage Week is an ongoing event at IHS and we continue to foster the feeling of pride and patriotism through education.
