World English Day

“The English language is nobody’s special property. It is the property of the imagination: it is the property of the language itself.” ~ Derek Walcott

World English Day is celebrated annually on 23rd April every year to mark the birth and death anniversary of William Shakespeare. This day aims to promote the importance of English language, cultural diversity, and multilingualism.

Students engaged in various activities that kept them connected with the language. The activities covered word pyramids, scrabble board, poem recitation and a citizen forum where students exchanged opinions, concerns, and ideas on matters of public interest, thereby empowering them to contribute to positive societal change.

Today, English stands as a global language, with approximately one in four individuals worldwide speaking the language. It serves as a bridge, enabling communication between individuals with diverse native languages.
