In the ever-evolving landscape of education, it is essential to adopt innovative techniques to engage and mould young minds. One such approach that has proven to be highly effective is the incorporation of role-playing, scenario discussions and Value Based Education (VBE) into the curriculum as per NCF 2023 and the same was practiced in the class when the students of Grade VII participated in an “Environmental Responsibility” activity wherein they were divided into two groups. The first group represented the board members of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the other group consisted of the Citizens. The aggrieved yet aware citizens scheduled a meeting with the board members of the Ministry and discussed their grievances. The board members suggested solutions and framed policy to be implemented for the protection of our environment. Through this activity the students learned to be responsible and accountable for their actions towards the environment.
