Republic Day

“A country’s greatness lies in its undying ideals of love and sacrifice that inspire the mothers of the race. “ ~Sarojini Naidu

26th January is a day on which every Indians heart fills up with patriotic fervour and immense love for their motherland. There are many significant memories as it was this day when the Indian Tricolour was first unfurled in January 1930 at Lahore, by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and the declaration of an independent Indian National Congress was made. 26th January 1950 was the day when the Indian republic and its constitution came into force. It was this day in history in 1965 when Hindi was declared as the official language of India. As the country comes together in this pandemic to celebrate the 72nd Republic Day across the country, students of IHS participated with equal enthusiasm. To mark the occasion, the students of Grade IV conducted a special assembly. The principal. Ms. Neelu Sharma addressed the students, highlighting the significance of the day and making them aware that the future of their country lies in their hands.  The flag was unfurled at school by the Principal and the Chairman, Mr. Satpal Dhaiya, sans the children. Yet the spirit was intact and the feeling of pride circulated among all. Students, across classes, participated in various activities like patriotic poem recitation, airshow collage, hand print flag making and tear and paste flag making. They also proudly made patriotic badges, which they later distributed among their family members.

Saluting India…where each bud blooms in its true colours, where each day is a celebration of Unity, Harmony and Strength!

Happy Republic Day.
